MHREADME.TXT file for MicroHelp Utilities for Windows
Version 1.10
January 15, 1992
Pre-setup notes
===================================================================
*** Please read these notes before continuing with Setup ***
===================================================================
-------------------------------------------------------------------
1: Where should I install the programs?
-------------------------------------------------------------------
It is recommended that you DO NOT install the program files into
either your Windows directory or your System directory. Instead,
you may place them into any other directory. By default, they will
be placed into C:\MHUTILS (which will be created if necessary).
The DLL files may be placed in your System directory.
To change the destination of these files, choose the Change setup
button on the main Setup window.

Post-setup notes
-------------------------------------------------------------------
1: Effects of the SUBST command
-------------------------------------------------------------------
UnInstaller can scan your system to find all documents (data files)
created by the program that you are uninstalling. If you are using
the DOS "SUBST" command to map a directory onto a drive letter,
then UnInstaller may find the same file multiple times, once for
each mapping.
Thus, UnInstaller may report that a file cannot be deleted since
you have already deleted it under a prior mapping.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
2: Uninstalling UnInstaller
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Strange as it may seem, you cannot use UnInstaller to uninstall
UnInstaller! UnInstaller cannot delete itself because if its files
get deleted while it is still running, UnInstaller will crash.
The following files are used by UnInstaller:
UNINSTAL.EXE
UNINSTAL.HLP
VBRUN100.DLL (*)
MHEN200.VBX (*)
MHUTIL.VBX (*)
The files marked with an asterisk (*) are also used by IniClean.
To delete UnInstaller, simple use File Manager to delete these
files. Do *not* delete the files marked with an asterisk (*) if
you want to continue using IniClean.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
3: Error reading Program Manager Groups
-------------------------------------------------------------------
If UnInstaller gives you an error message that it is unable to read
one of your Program Manager groups after you press the "Select" button,
please do the following:
Display Program Manager
Hold down the left shift key and then Select "File - Exit Windows".
You should see some disk activity, but Windows will NOT close.
This action causes Program Manager to re-save all of the .GRP (group)
files as well as the PROGMAN.INI file and should fix this problem.
If the problem still exists after you have done this, please call our
Technical Support department.
